Prayer For Our Mayor (And Other City Officials)
In early 2021 we began to sense a burden to call together women to lead the way in praying for the newly elected Mayor of the City of St. Louis, Mayor Tishaura Jones.
We began this as a 1 hour weekly prayer at 8:30 am on Saturday mornings, beginning Saturday, June 12, 2021. We met via zoom, with an in-person option available upon request for those preferring in-person prayer.
After aa couple of months of praying for Mayor Jones, we realized that in praying for her, we were constantly expanding our prayer to include ALL of our local and extended authorities, so we now intentionally pray for all local authorities on this call.
We began to get requests from men who wanted to also pray for our Mayor and those in authority in our region, so this prayer call is now open to all Christian Believers who want to pray for those in authority.
This call to prayer is completely NONPARTISAN and nonpolitical, it matters not what any person's political beliefs or preferences are. It does not matter what church affiliation or denomination you belong to. This invitation is open to any and all Christian believers willing to pray in unity. We will simply be praying for our City leaders and some of the challenges they face, according to 1 Timothy 2:1-3 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, {and} giving of thanks, be made for all men, (2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior...
Because physical space is very limited, please contact us if you plan to attend in person. If we find that demand is much greater than anticipated, we will look into a larger location, or if weather permits, we will meet outside of the building.
